And Customers are Getting a Slice of Heaven
Little Falls, NJ – November 30, 2021 – Greg Norton, nephew of famed pizza icon Dominick DeMarco – owner of Brooklyn’s legendary Di Fara’s Pizza -ventured off on his own and opened Di Fara’s Pizza Tavern in Cary, North Carolina in February 2021. With the help of New York Watermaker’s™ patent-pending water source replication system, Norton can honestly say he’s cooking up real authentic New York City pizza for Cary locals.
Shortly after Norton moved from New York to North Carolina, he decided to open Di Fara’s Pizza Tavern because he and his family were missing the delicious pizza from his hometown. Norton had all the know-how from his years of working along-side his family and was able to source all the ingredients to replicate the famed pizza except for the water. He chose the New York Watermaker system to emulate the water used to make the dough his uncle’s pizza from Brooklyn is known for. “It’s the best water in the world, I promise you that. It’s all in the water, it’s all in the ingredients, and it’s all in the love,” said Norton.
As a kid, Norton hung around Di Fara’s Pizza with his siblings and cousins. As an adult, he worked closely with his family. “Before opening, my family’s advice to me was to make the family proud and to never cut corners, which is why we had to find a water system that could replicate Brooklyn water – without it we wouldn’t be able to deliver authentic New York pizza,” said Norton. “And everyone —who knows anything about pizza and water knows that New York has the best pizza because of the water. I was determined to use NY water no matter what mountains I needed to climb.”
Customers Speak Out: Pizza with the “WOW” Factor
“Our customers are wowed when they learn that we have a water filtration system that replicates NY water. We use this as our most important factor when asked how we stand out or how we are different from other pizza places in North Carolina,” said Norton. “Our customers also recognize that our pizza is made with imported fresh ingredients, which makes our pizzas delicious. Many northern transplants thank us numerous times for finally bringing great pizza to North Carolina. We’ve been told our pizza is sublime, makes all others irrelevant.”
“We know water is the key ingredient to making good pizza. So, when we hear customers like Greg Norton, who is originally from Brooklyn, NY, share that the New York Watermaker system made it possible for them to make authentic New York pizza – selling about 1,200 pizzas or more a week – that’s all the validation we need to know we have the best water replication system that can reproduce any water profile in the world,” said Paul Errigo, President of New York Watermaker.
